• established in 1999 with 4 children and currently serves 173 students
  • located in the countryside outside of Koforidua about 2.5 hours outside of Accra
  • leadership provided by Director and Founder Reverend Victor
  • an independent, non-denominational, faith-based organization which welcomes students and visitors of all faiths
  • sits on 9 acres of land. Its infrastructure consists of a girls’ dormitory, boys’ dormitory, four rooms for teachers’ quarters, girls’ and boys’ latrines, dining hall, auditorium, administrative office, incomplete boys’ shower, incomplete seven classroom school blocks, and a computer lab.

Accomplishments of SBIG

  • new air-conditioned computer lab with 11 Inveneo computers, 2 printers and an LCD projector with seating for 24 students
  • instructional contact per child ranges from 3-3.3 hours per week, with a minimum access to the lab at least twice a week
  • over 32 contact hours of instruction per week to the school
  • wired and wireless local area networks
  • In addition to the direct contributions made by SBIG to BASCO, other donors (Ghanaian and American) purchased a new diesel generator to supply power for the computer lab by day and lighting the compound in the evenings
  • In 2012, of the 24 students presented for the BECE exam, 15 students passed with grades ranging from 1-5
